Therapeutic Approach

Our Approach

Therapy at Foxfire is integrative and responsive rather than rigidly structured. We draw from multiple therapeutic frameworks, adapting our approach to the person and the moment rather than applying a single model.
Our work is reflective and collaborative, grounded in curiosity about what has shaped you and what is beginning to change. We explore patterns that once served a purpose, the meanings that organize your experience, and the shifts already underway beneath the surface. This work centers lived experience and supports integration and self-trust as your sense of self reorganizes around what is real now.

Modalities We Integrate

Therapy at FoxFire is integrative and responsive, drawing from multiple therapeutic traditions and adapting to the person, the moment, and the meaning that’s emerging.

Modalities we commonly integrate include Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Internal Family Systems (parts work), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused approaches, and attachmentand relationally informed frameworks. Creative and expressive practices, such as writing, visual meaning-making, or working outdoors through walking therapy, are incorporated when they support insight and integration in ways conversation alone cannot. At times, our work may also include reflective reading, between-session practices, or shared engagement with books, articles, or cultural conversations sometimes drawn from literature, media, or the broader world beyond psychology when these stories help deepen understanding or open new ways of thinking and feeling together.

Concerns We Commonly Support

Clients come to Foxfire Therapy during periods of transition, disorientation, or quiet internal change. We support people navigating grief and loss—including ambiguous or anticipatory grief—identity shifts, gender and sexuality exploration, neurodivergence approached from a strengths-based perspective, anxiety, depression, and mood concerns, trauma and attachment wounds, relationship and couples challenges (including LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent partnerships), burnout and chronic stress, career transitions, the emotional impact of chronic illness or diagnosis, and the particular pressures faced by creatives, caregivers, helpers, and deep thinkers seeking coherence and meaning.
